Poker is a card game with many rules. In the most basic form, it is a competition between players who are equal in cards. For example, the player with the highest card of the same suit wins the pot if he has a high hand. The player with the lowest card of the same suit, however, loses the entire pot.<\/p>\n
Poker is played with a standard 52-card pack, but two different-colored packs can be used if more players are present. In games with seven or more players, poker chips are required. In general, white chips are the lowest value. A red chip is worth five whites, while a blue chip is worth two, four, or five reds.<\/p>\n
The player must announce his pair before betting and risks losing the pot if other players foul the hand. In ace-to-five lowball, the highest hand wins the pot. Flushes and straights do not count against lowball hands. A joker is the lowest card not present in the hand and is assumed to be the lowest.
