Oh, I want chocolate pudding with chocolate custard. I loved school dinners, and my best friend’s mum was one of the serving ladies so she would give us extra. Mmmmm.

I get to eat scrummy school dinners every day – our school’s homemade soups are to die for! It’s changed a lot since I was a pupil.

Oh my! I had COMPLETELY forgotten about pink custard!! I used to like semolina with a dollop of jam – and the dinner ladies would shout at us for stirring the jam into the semolina so it turned pink!

I don’t miss pink custard but loved sponge puddings. Discovered our local hospital serves school dinner food which was a bit of a silver lining!

I wish we had hot lunches here. The best we get is pizza day once a week. I am not very creative with the packed luches. Fortunately, Boy is content with bologna sandwiches everyday. Yuck, but at least he eats it

I loved school dinners!

All those roast dinners, proper chips, summer salads.

And the puddings? Oh my giddy Aunt!

Manchester tart, chocolate blancmange, marble sponge and chocolate or pink custard, ginger Sponge, treacle tart.

I’m blumming starving now!

I miss pink custard. I have to say I am very impressed with Maxi’s school dinners and very often or not there isnt chips on the menu. He eats very well at school and I have been told by his teacher that he polishes most things off.

He doesnt have a sweet tooth, but loves when there are cheese, crakers and grapes for afters.

I was not concerned about school when he started in September, but I was so concerned about dinners, about how he would carry it all, make an informed choice and use his knife and fork.

It is wonderful and I am ever grateful for him being an eater
