We stayed at a holiday cottage in the Lakes with some friends and had taken quite a few cooking utensils for a big meal the husband was cooking. We accidentally took a large sharp knife home with us. Next time we pass we’ll have to bob it in, although if I were stayng there and someone poisted a knife through the door I’d be worried.

In the holiday cottage we have tea spoons and knives vanish.

I suspect guests take them for the picnic on the way home.

Spoon for the yoghurt, knife to cut the cheeses and french bread.

I’ve found spoons outside in the flower beds and amongst all the toys. What is it with spoons??

You could crack the recycle thang here. Plastic spoons and tubs into the recycling box. Learn that at 3 and by 4 they’ll be saying things like “is all that going to land fill mommy.”

I have opposite problem, I try and put things in the bin and they all take them out. This stymies my attempts to prevent our house from turning into a rubbish dump. We don’t have a problem with spoons though as my children prefer to use fingers. Which they then wipe all over their clothes and the furniture. I wish mine had a touch more OCD.
