This post is for Tara Lara’s Gallery. The theme this week is ‘faces’.
Gramps’ dog, sadly, died last month. She was really poorly and had to be put down.
“I can’t imagine you without a dog” I said, a week after Millie went to doggie heaven.
It turns out he couldn’t imagine himself without a dog either. This week Poppy, an 8 week old Cockalier (a cocker spaniel/King Charles Cavalier cross), arrived.
The kids were so excited and begged me to take them to visit the new pup. They loved her, and are begging me again to take them back. They call her a Cockalier Cocktail.

Awwww cute! Looks at those puppy eyes! #TheGallery
It’s always so hard to say goodbye to a pet isn’t it. The new puppy is so beautiful though and I hope she brings lots of happiness! #TheGallery
PS: Love that my mum whispers online so the dog can’t hear x
Oh she’s adorbs!! Good luck with the puppy stage, Gramps! x
Oh, Laura, my Ellie is 13 now and the likelihood is that I may not have her for too much longer [it’s OK she is outside and can’t hear me!]. Like your Gramps I can’t imagine my life without a dog, but at nearly 75 wonder if I will manage a new puppy……I’m fairly fit now but in 5 or 10 years’ time? I really don’t want an older dog, with no knowledge of its history and temperament – not looking forward to having to make that decision.
Adorable!!!!
