The 5 year old’s baby needs to learn to sleep through …

Written by on January 15, 2010 in BLOG - 20 Comments

The 5 year old got a Baby Annabell for Christmas.

Yesterday she played with a her a lot; Pushing her around in the pushchair, feeding, talking and singing to her … sometimes swinging her by her legs to entertain her.

This particular doll along with cooing, chuckling and burping also cries … and cries … and cries. Real tears too.

This morning when I went to wake the 5 year old for school, she had Baby Annabell in bed next to her. When she woke, she was grumpy.  She told me to be quiet, not to wake or touch the baby.

It appears she’d forgotten to turn the doll off when she went to bed last night. Naughty Annabell had started crying in the night. The 5 year old had to get up, get Annabell out of her cot and feed her.  Then when she wouldn’t stop crying she brought her into her bed and cuddled her back to sleep.

Oh how I laughed.

Brilliant! She sounds wise beyond her years, Son would just have thrown it down the stairs I think… did she spend ten minutes weighing up the pros and cons of co-sleeping first…

    How adorable!

We got our toddler a dolly for christmas in preperation for baby number 2 to arrive, and she reads the dolly her books and gets the dollys hands to point at what they are looking at!

Sounds like she won’t have much to learn when the time for motherhood comes.

That’ll put her off a real one for years! My 3 yr old knows his sister’s doll has an on/off switch as he likes to make it giggle..

ROFLMAO! I am impressed though that she dealt with the doll all by herself instead of coming and waking you up.

    That is TOO funny.

My two year old got the same doll. She is not allowed to take it to bed at night. Now I even have a good reason why. :-)

Very funny, if she tells you she doesn’t want children when she’s older you’ll know why!

That is great – I suppose it’s good to teach them early – now she knows what she has to look forward to.

LOL bless her. A taste of the future? Maybe these dolls should be issued to all kids just so they know what it’s like.
