With the Driver Family being all about healthy eating we were delighted when Tefal sent us an Actifry.
I made potato wedges and they were delicious. The process was easy, chop up your potatoes cover with a spoonful of oil and fling in the Actifry. 35 minutes later we had perfectly cooked wedges.
Because of the cooking process, the wedges were rotated throughout by a paddle which makes them fluffy in the middle and nice and crispy on the outside. You only need to wipe it down afterwards with kitchen roll so no intensive cleaning either.
The downsides … The unit itself is quite large and I’ve had to rejig the cupboards to find it a home. The first time I used it I thought it was quite loud and likened it to a small aircraft taking off … not so noticeable the second time!
All in all I’m very impressed. The whole process is so easy and the end product is just how it should be. Next I’m planning on cooking prawns and roast potatoes, but not together.
The Actifry comes with a recipe book to help you get the most out of it … although I think I’ll be avoiding the peanut and bacon chips.
The Tefal Actifry is currently retailing at £124.99 on Amazon

You’ve reminded me I haven’t reviewed mine yet. Jeez. I like it but it’s a bit noisy.
It is a bit noisy, but a bit like the main road running alongside our house, I got used to it, the husband didn’t!
I’m getting me one of these
My mam has one and they do great chips too.
I haven’t tried chips yet, we’re currently addicted to wedges!
Mine is hopefully getting delivered tomorrow. We’ll be eating chips and wedges for the next week
Yay!
