On Day 5 of the 5 year old’s house arrest this
DS game was delivered. I nearly kissed the postman … I said nearly.
During Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension (for the Nintendo DS) you can change between three Phineas, Ferb and Agent P. In the game you have to jump, dodge, race and battle through five worlds featuring over 30 levels. Along the way, you work to earn gadget upgrades including a baseball launcher and Agents P’s favourite gadget the grapple gun, while solving environmental puzzles in an effort to save Danville.
Seeing that it was for age 7 my heart sank but I gave it to the 5 year old nonetheless and sat next to him in case he needed help.
The 5 year old has played the game a lot over the past few days and has thoroughly enjoyed it. He’s quite proud of the fact he’s managed to finish one of the worlds with only a tiny bit of help at the end to combat the ‘Platyborg’!
We’re not overly familiar with the characters, having only seen the TV programme a handful of times but that didn’t seem to matter. A great platform game which has kept the 5 year old amused during his time at home, recovering from his operation. It’s challenging but he seems to be really enjoying the problem solving aspect of it. Unfortunately I can’t tell you what the 7 year old thinks of it as she hasn’t been allowed near it!
