Every year at Easter we, as a family, go egg rolling. It is a long held family tradition … since I was a child. This year we are travelling up to Scotland to stay with some friends as it is their turn to host the Egg Rolling Championship.
My sister, my niece, my nephew, myself, The Husband, The Teenager, the 4 year old and the 5 year old will descend on their house to paint our eggs.
In over 20 years of rolling I have never won … not that I’m bitter. This is my year. I will win.
I say that every year.
So without further ado, here is my entry for Tara’s Gallery.
This weeks theme is colour and these are the 2009 entries for the West Yorkshire Egg Rolling Championship hosted by My Sister. Mine is the Charlie & The Chocolate Factory inspired Golden Egg and My Sister’s is the one that looks like a boob.

Can we please have a vlog of the egg rolling championships? Pretty please?
Possibly, maybe!
I really love the black one with the white face! Simple, but sticks out hehe.
The title drew me here… GREAT attention title =)
The one with the black face was the black sheep!
Love this title
It seemed right somehow and I knew it would slightly rile Tara!
OK – I must show this post to my OH. He does not believe that there is such a thing as egg rolling. He’s convinced it’s something I’ve made up. But I have cinefilm of me rolling eggs when I was a teeny tot and everything!
I might vlog our egg roll for further proof
Only you could come up with an entry a a posh online Gallery and shlip the word ‘boob’ in there! I think I can say with all confidence that your photo is unique this week!
Posh online gallery? Where? Fnarrr
Those are so fabulous. Really really lovely. I am mst concerned about the green boob actually. The pink one is fine though. And I love the shimmery pearly paints you’ve used. Can’t wait to see this year’s. (Actually that sounds a bit sad doesn’t it? I can wait, but I would like to see them. ;D)
I’ll give you a flash of this years eggs when they’re done
I love those beautiful shiny eggs, they’re gorgeous!
They are lovely, every year a differnt array of shiny colours
I love that tradition , i think my girls would love egg rolling. Remember going as a child , and having great fun.
Good luck this year
I think you should do it and vlog about it!
We don’t really have any hills to roll our eggs over here in Florida. =( Good luck to you this year — I shall stay tuned to see if this is YOUR year!
I can feel it … this year is my year … Ahem.
No hills in Florida – maybe you could just throw instead?!
So did you win or did the booby win by a nip?
Badumtish! No, never won in all my years of rolling … it’s the taking part blah blah and all that!
Loving the faces – how far do you get an egg to roll?
That depends on the incline of the hill …
What a great idea, and a lovely colourful picture.
Thank you!
I’m here, frantically looking for a boob! Amy used to paint eggs but she just hasn’t got the patience anymore. These are fabulous. Happy rolling.
CJ xx
Thank you – hope you found the boob
Great looking eggs – and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you win this year!
Thank you. I shall tell you what time we’re rolling so you can channel your positive thoughts!
this is genius…I love it. I can’t wait for my little’uns to get into doing stuff like this!
We’ve done it every year since I was little. It’s great fun for everyone
Yep I (we) are like Josie, eating until it gets to the point of not feeling well
love the idea very cool!
We do that too!
I think this year I will do pubes to go with my one tit. And the Cup ( yes there is an official cup ) will stay in our family – won by She-ra last year who was so overwhelmed that she actually cried.
BRING IT ON!
I nearly put the pic of She-Ra crying but decided she wouldn’t forgive me. I was going to give her funky glasses to protect her identity, but still.
She still says she got soemthing in her eye.
The Husband has been on an intensive egg rolling course by the way. That cup will be back in our family before you know it.
sorry, sister, but the boob is disgusting! I like the sort of punkish box up the top with the black and snot green ones…but thenI would, wouldn’t I?
So what do you have to do then? Need the rules.
The punkish ones were my families … of course. You have good taste.
I’m going to put the rules up next week, so you can join in!
Egg rolling is a fab idea. Love that they are all coloured so brightly, boobs or not! x
It’s great – the kids love painting their eggs … so do the adults as you can see
Did she intentionally make a boob? (She could have at least made a pair!) Good luck with the rolling – my money is on the bumble bee egg!
Of course she did – she may comment later and deny it and tell you it’s something else but I know … it is a boob.
I can’t remember who’s the bumble bee was.
I’ll post pictures on the blog after Easter of this years entries.
I love the idea of egg rolling and might have to start this with the boys
I think you should – it’s good fun!
I love this tradition!
Our family tradition is just to eat till we’re sick at Easter. I like yours better.
My favourites are the smiley face ones.
Ah, you will be referring to ‘the black sheep’ and ‘the bee’ then!
