I have very strong feelings about reading to children and have read to mine since they were only a few months old. We have hundreds of books and now that the 4 year old is learning to read I can see that all my hard work is paying off.
So, when Caroline from love2read approached me to create a personalised book I didn’t have to think twice.
Caroline is an experienced primary school teacher and a mother to three children. In her spare time she runs a business called love2read, a website where you can create a personalised book online, upload pictures, add your own text into a virtual book template and then a hard copy arrives in the post.
All the books are based on key reading words (high frequency words) which children have to learn when they start school … so you are just finishing sentences eg I like chocolate, I like my bike, I like reading, I like dancing.
Caroline challenged me to create my own book and let you know how I got on.
Well, all I can say is E.A.S.Y. The website was a doddle to navigate, the pictures uploaded without a hitch, I even found I could upload multiple pictures, change borders, turn pictures etc.
When the book arrived the 3 year old couldn’t get enough, but then it was all about him and his favourite things. I made him the ‘I love …’ book.
When I looked at all the other books; I like, My family, My first year, My friends, My mum, My grandma to name just a few of the titles I started thinking of other books I could make for my family and friends and possible gift opportunities.
Father’s Day is coming up in a few weeks … last date to order is the 17th June. Get yourselves over to www.love2read.co.uk
Driver Family Verdict – We’re giving love2read a big fat 4/5 … At £14.99 it’s a bit pricey for a tight Yorkshire lass but everything else is spot on. It’s unique, easy to make online, educational and the quality of the finished product is great.
In regards to price Caroline has said the following … “I understand your point about cost. I do offer special offers from time to time and as orders increase my printing costs will reduce and I’m planning to pass that saving on to the customers.”

Wow, it looks fabulous here hon. And I love that idea. Brilliant.
Oooo, I’d love to do something like that. I don’t think it’s a bad price at all for a real keepsake.
That sounds great. Caroline approached me a while ago and I’m ashamed to say I put it on the back burner as one of those things to do “when I get around to it”. I’ll definitely have to have a go now, thanks for the recommendation.
I’ve found the comment box!!
Great idea.

Sounds totally cool! I will definitely check it out. I love to read as well and am so thrilled that my Kindergartener has taken such a shine to it as well! Thanks for the tip!
Sounds like a great idea……do they do them for different age groups?
