Ladybird, catch the reading bug!

I’m a Gurgle Girl, and as such I was sent a HUGE bag of books and other bits and bobs from Ladybird.

I’ve always been a fan of Ladybird and it’s lovely that I can still share the classic Ladybird books with my children.

In the bag was a selection of books for both children, a Spot DVD,  some stickers, a camera, some little ladybirds, a cookie cutter and some a Spot dog.

So far the 4 year old’s favourites are definitely the Read Along with Ladybird and the Superhero Phonic Readers books.  The latter are very current as the 4 year old is using phonics to read at the moment. Peppa’s Noisy Boat Trip was fun, but a bit too young, so we’ve passed that on to a younger friend along with the Spot goodies.

I was looking forward to reading Topsy and Tim Start School. I read their books as a child, but I found the updated versions a bit stilted. The 4 year old certainly didn’t complain and during his first week of school he asked for this to be read every night.

The 6 year old loved Puddle The Naughtiest Puppy : Magic Carpet Ride which is part of a set of chapter books.

The bag was lovely too, it’s our new library bag!

Thanks Ladybird.
