Out of all the local farm parks this is the one I return to time and time again. It never fails to entertain and never gets boring. The farm is family run and all of the staff are really friendly and happy to answer any questions.

We arrived at 10am and left at 4.30pm so at £4.50 per person (under 2′s are £2 and under 1′s are free) it is well worth every penny. There is so much to do with various structured activities taking place usually every 30 minutes inside and outside.
As it was a lovely day we split our time between the adventure playground outside and came back inside for activities as and when the kids were up for it. We collected eggs, bottle fed lambs and calves, brushed pigs, played in sandpits, got lost in a straw maze and played on various ride on tractors. The 4 year old spent most of her time cuddling guinea pigs.
We had a picnic outside (there are extensive picnic areas inside and out plus a cafe) then went on a tractor ride with Farmer Chris which involved seeing the ginormous bull, Robust, and a question and answer session (an extra £1 per person). I asked perfectly innocent questions about the bull which were misconstrued as rude by my friends. The 4 year old and her friends kept giggling because the bull had poo smeared all over its bum and had a big willy.
The farm is open April to September with limited opening from September to the end of October.
Driver Family Verdict - I would give Hesketh Farm Park a big fat 4/5 … value for money, great fun and educational

Those questions about Robust were not innocent. I give you two quotes regarding the beast from your own lips…
“He was very muscular.” (said in a faraway, dreamy voice)
“Do you hire out Robust’s services?”
And I will not even mention the chat about the tupping of the sheep and your multicoloured bottom…
