Water Baby
The 3 year old has always loved bathtime. Being my bold adventurer he’s never been afraid of water going in his eyes and when swimming is not afraid to leap from the side of the pool in his usual kamikaze fashion.
Last weekend he got a trampoline burn (a tiny friction burn) on the top of his foot and when he got in the bath he started screaming. It must have stung like hell, judging by the noise levels, and he ended up leaping out.

Precautionary Measure : Elevation
On Wednesday, three days later, it took me 20 minutes to cajole him out of his socks and with the promise that one of his cars and Batman could go in too he climbed in gingerly. Maybe less climbed gingerly than I folded him in like a slippery octopus whilst he screamed.
When he realised that he was not going to die and that his foot was indeed better he relaxed, but took precautions as you can see.
All was well … then on Thursday he slipped on the way home from school and grazed his knees. I didn’t even attempt to give him a bath.
Here he is proudly showcasing his wounds … bathtime’s going to be interesting.

My kids do the same – they don’t want baths at all with scrapes and boo-boos. (The pictures are too cute!)
Love the first photo! My daughter is a water baby too
Love the water baby.
I’m trying to teach the kids that grazes are cool.
Fab “foot” photograph,

Poor little fellow, that would have hurt!
He has discovered a way to try to avoid bath time…
Ah yes, the summer fun of bathing while injured. I expected a similar yelp from the girl today, but she was distracted enough not to notice I guess.
Good luck for the next time!
Gorgeous photos (well, the first two anyway)!
