I’m not sure who had the most fun; the 3 year old, the 5 year old or the 40 year old …

22 Comments on "Bum Sliding Sans Sledges"
That is fabulous ! I want to do that
That snow looks positively powdery and gorgeous! We get snow here in Australia, but nothing like that. (It’s usually quite icy.)
Looks a lot of fun. x
It was really good snow for a few days, then ice and now icy slush. No more bum sliding for now.
Love Andy’s chuckle! They are gorgeous children xx
Aye, tis true, they are gorgeous. … and that was not a chuckle, it was more a demented cackle.
Everyone loves a bum slide- whatever the weather no?
Summer bum sliding has the grass stain hazard
Hilarious! Who is the biggest kid, I wonder…?
Oh and I got all nostalgic listening to your ‘i’m not supposed to be laughing’ snigger.
Turns out the 3 year old is a speed freak just like his father …
Once again, my daughter has asked to watch this video several times. She is also asking why I did not allow her to lie in the snow and make a snow angel. I am being given that *bad mummy* look.
I tried to stop her, honest I did, but to be fair after sliding down a hill on your bum several times a snow angel is nothing.
adorable! did you not have a go yourself, Mrs?
I did have a go the following day when I’d forgotten the flip camera!
I’m SO jealous of your snow fun!
It was great fun, we went back day after day after day!
Fantastic – though, as you can imagine, slightly painful for me to see! We used to use old feed bags at the farm and bags are definitely better than sledges IMHO…. (partic after visit to A&E!)…
40 year old definitely most enthusiastic!
The older children who had sledges were gobsmacked by how fast we were going. Hope your young man is OK!
Excellent fun, what a perfect hill! The boys persuaded me to have a go on the sledge a couple of days ago. After saying, no no, I’m too old, I changed my mind and I can confirm that the 40 year old probably DID have the most fun. Being grown up makes you forget what’s really important in life sometimes.
I had a few goes, but wasn’t dressed quite as well as the children and ended up with snow up my back! Good fun though, brings back great memories of childhood snow days.
I used to love doing this as a child on bin liners and plastic sacks on the massive hills in the parks in Ipswich. It’s something we can’t do here in the Fens as its completely flat so my kids are missing out.
Oh no, such a shame.
My brother in law has a flat field. He uses a quad and one of those big black rubber rings to recreate the act of sledging.
But, I don’t suppose you have a quad, a field or a rubber ring either?
