I have a friend, my bezzie, Teacher Friend Mother of 3. She is Wonder Woman, always thinking of others and she never stops. She works as a primary school teacher, hosts a toddler group in the village, runs Brownies and helps out at the local church. She is always looking for an opportunity to help others. She is an amazing, selfless woman.
Every so often you come across an amazing person like Teacher Friend Mother of 3, someone who goes above and beyond and helps others without a second thought. I’d like to be one of those people but I’m not, I find it hard enough to keep up with my own family!
This year Tesco are hosting the Tesco Magazine Mum of The Year awards. There are three exceptional finalists and the public can vote for the winner. The finalists are;
* Michelle, the mum of a Downs Syndrome little boy, who founded Family Voice, to help other families in similar situations, and Little Miracles, a playgroup for disabled children
* Karen, whose husband was killed while serving in Afghanistan, and who now devotes her time to fundraising for forces charities, especially Forces Children’s Trust, who raise money for children who have lost a parent in the forces.
* AnneMarie who has devoted herself to helping her local community, Dumfries, including spearheading a successful campaign for an improved community centre in the area.
Each finalist is being championed by a celebrity; Lorraine Kelly, Matt Dawson and Sara Cox. Voting is open until the 25th of January and you can vote at the Tesco Magazine Mum of the Year Facebook page.
I am lucky enough to be going to London in February to blog about the award ceremony so I’ll be able to tell you all the gossip from behind the scenes! It’s a red carpet event so I am trying to decide what to wear … I’m not sure jeans and a hoody will cut it.

One Comment on "Amazing, Exceptional & Selfless – Tesco Magazine Mum of The Year Awards 2011"
i think my mum should win because
1. every time i look at her i see a loving mum who has to raise 4 children by herself one of 4 another 3 another 10 another 11.
2.she works 5 days a week whilst her mother of 68 has to look after the children and my mum has to work to look after us and its not fair because my mums mum has a blood clot and is poorly.
3.my mum has never won an award and she definatly derserves this.
4.my mum used to give blood to help others and now its time for me to help her.
5.my mum would be so happy instead of tired from working 5 days a week and i want to see a smile on her face because that would reward me.
so look into your heart and please if you can give the award to my mother.
